Marty C Lynch has been an associate professor of theatre at Eureka College where he taught design, technical theatre, theatre history, and dramatic literature. He has also taught as an adjunct at Bradley University and Illinois Central College. Before that, he was an assistant professor at Valdosta State University

Prior to teaching, Marty worked as a set designer for the Theater at Monmouth, the state Shakespearean theatre of Maine.  He also worked for Royal Caribbean International on the Majesty of the Seas, the first ship in the RCI fleet to partake in concert itineraries (Dave Matthews and Kenny Chesney).  Previous jobs have taken him to theatres such as Peach State Summer Theatre (Valdosta, GA), Stagedoor Manor (Loch Sheldrake, NY), The Lost Colony (Manteo, NC), West Virginia Public Theatre (Morgantown, WV), Round House Theatre (Silver Spring, MD), and Bigfork Summer Playhouse (Bigfork, MT).

Marty serves on the Illinois High School Theatre Planning Committee.  He also travels as a respondent for the Kennedy Center of the Arts Festival Region III.  He has presented at a number of regional theatre conferences for several years. 

Marty holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Tech/Design from West Virginia University, and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Tennessee. He is currently a doctoral student in the Higher Education Administration program at Illinois State University.
